My Turtle Patrol Years in Photos

This website was created in 2002, with photos from my first year on patrol.  Every year since, I have met folks from all over the United States and the world.  We don't have a lot of time to "chat" while out on patrol, but we have managed to capture the moments.  Here are links to subsequent turtle patrol years - some are in diary form, others are just photo galleries - I hope you enjoy.  Click on the year to get started.

2003 - With a little help from our friends
This was a very different year - the ocean temp was cold, which sent hatchlings into shock and washing back to the beach.  At times we had over 100 hatchlings catching a ride on the ATV headed to the Marine Science Center.  Click here to view diary for 2003.

2004 - A season cut short
I believe mother nature knew what was in store for us - it was a low nesting season and then along came Charlie, Frances and Jeanne.  Click here to view photos from 2004.

2005 - What a long strange ride it has been
Our beaches were pounded and dunes stripped during last years' hurricanes.  Mommas can't climb up into the dunes to lay nests - the dunes are sheer cliffs now.  High tides (up to sea walls and dunes) are wreaking havoc on the nests.  Our nest numbers are up this year and emergences were well on their way, then Ophelia came to visit...and would not leave.  Click here to view photos and friends from 2005.
