Yo - what's up dude
Yes, they are cute - this little guy has some serious attitude...alien turtle.

Save the Loop
Wonder what all those signs and messages are about?  Here is one good reason.

How to read a nest
A lot of people ask us what all the markings on nest stakes are about - a picture is worth a thousand words.

Another Surfin' Hatchling
9/04/03  The surf has finally warmed up a bit, but getting rough.  Once again we enlisted the help of another surfer to help send the hatchlings toward the Sargasso seaweed line.

9/06/03  Another late morning emergence caught by a News-Journal photographer.

What are those fuzzy things washing up?
9/12/03  Hurricane season is here and Isabel is starting to churn up the ocean.  This is causing seaweed to wash ashore - along with the juvenile (washback) turtles.  Sylvia is holding a washback and hatchling to show the size difference.

What a difference a camera makes
Bev sent some shots she took of the hatchlings with her primo camera...detail is great.

Not just turtles
The Audubon Society gives us a list of birds to watch during patrol...we log any activity that we see.  Last year was the night heron, this year we are recording Royal and Least Tern activity.
